This year’s 赌博appORUM continues the event\'s focus on dealing with urgent issues in China’s film industry. It will examine the larger background of China’s booming film market which has inspired this year\'s central theme “creation and the market.”
The market\'s expansion has attracted much foreign investment as well as posed questions about how to properly invest. This year’s 赌博appORUM will, for the first time, cooperate with the US\'s Film Finance Forum to invite experts in film investment and co-production to suggest new methods for developemnt of a bigger China market.
The first two discussions in the forum, Production and Investment in Films for International Audiences and Film Investment and Increments, will consist of four groups assessing investment selection and management in international collaborations.
The talks will also cover how the opening-up of the Chinese market is helping to boost Chinese investment in high-quality foreign projects, the foundation of which lies in the strength of the domestic market.
The third forum, Chinese Capital Hollywood ‘Counterattack’, will probe the potential of the Chinese film market and better ways to harness domestically the current phenomenon of outward investment of Chinese capital to produce foreign films.
Since the market has opened, there is a need for better films and productivity. So this year’s New Wave and Movie Master Class sections will include famous producers, big-name and young directors and master filmmakers in discussing how to improve quality and productivity levels in the creative environment.
Topics will include Hot Producer’s High-Quality Film Making in China, Hot Chinese Young Filmmakers, and Great Directors\' New Challenges.
“Every theme of each forum section and the involved guests have been chosen carefully," said Yang Shen, vice-director of 赌博app.
"Every invited guest is an industry big name, and they represent different successful experiences and backgrounds. So we hope they are appropriately matched to evaluate as much as possible our ideas about the industry\'s structure.
"The brainstorming by these big name filmmakers could help to point out a new direction and settle some of the puzzles,” he said.
The 赌博appORUM helps to set the Shanghai International Film Festival apart from other festivals. The festival has a highly complex role in the context of a constantly growing and changing Chinese filmmaking industry.
赌博appORUM has been developed in recent years from purely static movie discussions into a platform for deeper analysis, allowing the voices of global elites to be heard. Therefore, all forum topics focus on the most crucial issues for Chinese films, from both the basic structural and specific methodological aspects.
It is 赌博appORUM’s professionalism, practicality and openness that makes it a unique sub-set of the festival and enhances its reputation in the international film industry.
This year’s 赌博appORUM will be held from June 16-20 at the Crowne Plaza and Central Hall of Shanghai Exhibition Center. It will be open to all registered guests of Shanghai International Film Festival .
